POWER & LIGHT LIMITED WARRANTY STATEMENT
USA Power
& Light, Inc. (USAP&L), from the date of original sale/delivery
date, warrants that its generators will be free from defects in material and
workmanship for the items and period set forth below. USAP&L will, at its
option, repair or replace any part which, upon examination, inspection, and
testing by USAP&L or an Authorized Warranty Service Dealer, is found to
be defective and that, at USAP&L’s discretion, the generator is found to
be properly installed, maintained, and operated in accordance with supplied
instruction manuals. All transportation costs under the warranty, including
return to the factory, are to be borne and prepaid by the purchaser/owner.

hundred percent) transferable coverage (Excluding Export Units*) on Labor and
Part(s) listed (proof of purchase and maintenance is required):

whichever occurs first.

PROPRIETARY COMPONENT WARRANTIES:

Cutler-Hammer Transfer
Switches & Paralleling Switchgear - 12-months - parts only, no labor.
§
GE Zenith Transfer
Switches & Paralleling Switchgear - 12-months - parts only, no labor.
§
Radiators (except as mounted on Perkins engines): 12-months, parts
only, no labor.
§
Fuel Tanks: 12-months - parts only, no labor.
§
Perkins Rotating Electrics– Starters and DC Alternators - 12
months Parts and Labor.
§
Marathon alternators– Standby = 24 months parts only.
§
Marathon Alternators– Prime = 12 months, parts only.
§
Newage Alternators - Standby = 24 months/500 hours per year.
Maximum 1000 hours total– parts only.
§
Newage Alternators– Prime power = 12 months unlimited
Hours.
§
Battery Chargers
- 12 months - Parts only no labor.
§
Engine heaters - 12 months - Parts only no labor.
§
Engine controls and instruments not specifically
covered by other warranties - 12 months, parts only no labor.
THIS WARRANTY SHALL NOT APPLY TO
THE FOLLOWING:
§
USAP&L generators that utilize non-OEM
replacement parts.
§
Repairs or diagnostics performed by individuals
other than USAP&L and/or OEM authorized dealers not authorized in
writing, by USAP&L.
§
Any USAP&L generators used as rental or trailer
mounted applications, except as specifically included within the terms of a unit
warranty period.
§
Costs of normal maintenance, adjustments,
installation, and start-up.
§
Failures caused by any contaminated fuels, oils,
coolants, or lack of proper fluid amounts.
§
Failures due, but not limited, to observe any
warnings, misapplication, overloading, normal wear and tear, accident, misuse, abuse, negligence. As
with all mechanical devices, the USAP&L engines need periodic part(s)
service and replacement to perform well. This warranty will not cover repair when
normal use has exhausted the life of a part(s) or engine.
§
Failures due, but not limited, to any engine or
component that has been modified or altered, installed, commissioned,
operated, maintained, serviced, or stored otherwise than in accordance with,
the manufacturer’s recommendations and instructions.
§
Damage related to insect infestation and/or caused
by birds, rodents, or animals.
§
Failures caused directly or indirectly by
malfunction of utilities (telephone, gas, power, or water) lines or
equipment.
§
Failures caused by any external cause,
impossibility, or act of God.
§
Any incidental, consequential or indirect damages of
any kind including but not limited to: labor costs, installation costs, transportation
charges, customs duties, etc., associated with the replacement or repair of
defective parts or equipment failure, caused by defects in materials or
workmanship, or any delay in repair or replacement of the defective part(s).
§
Telephone, cellular phone, facsimile, internet
access or other communication expenses.
§
Living or travel expenses of person(s) performing
service, except as specifically included within the terms of a specific unit
warranty period.
§
Expenses related to "customer instruction",
investigative costs or troubleshooting where no manufacturing defect is
found.
§
Rental equipment used while warranty repairs are
being performed.
§
Costs incurred for equipment used for removal and/or
reinstallation of generator, (i.e.; cranes, hoists, lifts, etc.)
§
Overnight freight costs for replacement part(s).
§
Overtime labor.
§
Starting batteries, fuses, light bulbs, and engine
fluids.
THIS
WARRANTY IS IN PLACE OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, WRITTEN OR ORAL, EXPRESSED,
IMPLIED OR STATUTORY. SPECIFICALLY, USAP&L MAKES NO OTHER WARRANTIES AS
TO THE MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS, OR SPECIFIC PERFORMANCE FOR A PARTICULAR
PURPOSE. USAP&L ONLY LIABILITY SHALL BE THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF
PART(S) AS STATED ABOVE. IN NO EVENT AND WITHOUT LIMITATIONS, SHALL
USAP&L BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.
